Couples’ Dinner

On 20th September we held the first of our monthly couples’ dinners at the church. Everyone brought either a main course or a dessert to share and we had a really good time of fellowship with one another. This dinner came about one month after the couples’ retreat in Rugove that everyone had enjoyed so much and after the meal we spent some time talking about whether the retreat had been beneficial for our marriages and anything that we had taken from the retreat and applied to our lives since.

The couples’ dinners will be held on the 3rd Tuesday evening of each month at the church.

Food, and more…

This week marks “back to school” and therefore the end of summer (or at least that’s how kids all over Europe see it!) so we thought it was finally time to write about how we spent this summer serving the Lord with RoK. Continue reading “Food, and more…”

Food Distribution

For over a year now our church, Kisha Rilindja e Kosoves (Rebirth of Kosova Church), has been linked with a World Challenge project called Please Pass the Bread which provides funding for feeding programmes worldwide. The way we are involved in this is to go and buy food parcels and then distribute them to families in Gjakovë and surrounding villages. Continue reading “Food Distribution”

Youth Cell Group and Kosovapoly

We took over leading one of the Youth Cell Groups at church at the end of February and we asked for prayers to bond well with the group and for them to grow in confidence speaking English with us, using and building on what they have already learned at school and in private courses. Continue reading “Youth Cell Group and Kosovapoly”

Helen – things I miss from England

We want to use this blog not only to talk about the ministry we’re involved in but also to share a little bit about life here in general. We feel that Kosova has been done a disservice by the way that some organisations have described living conditions and we want to try and give an honest and up-to-date view of what living in Kosova is really like.

One of the things that I often get asked both in Kosova and in the UK is what I miss from England. Continue reading “Helen – things I miss from England”

Mission Trip – Gevgelija

You might have seen news stories about the refugee crisis in Macedonia amongst other countries. In November, together with Pastor Jeton, Drita and Nathan (a missionary from America), we went to visit the refugee camp in Gevgelija on the Macedonian border with Greece. Continue reading “Mission Trip – Gevgelija”
