For about 3 months we have been going with Drita to Vraniq, a village about 6 miles (10 km) from Gjakovë. The purpose for these visits is to teach English, help with homework and evangelise to the families that live there.
The map shows the location of Vraniq in relation to Gjakovë.
Some of the young people who live in Vraniq come to the church on Saturdays for the Youth Meeting, and on Sundays for the Main Service, and some have even been baptised. The boys who live here all attend the local school but this is not considered a priority for the girls and a few struggle with reading and writing as a result. We currently teach two of the young people there English and are helping another with Albanian reading and writing. We also spend social time with the families which we believe is important to understand the needs they have more fully.
We spend between one and two hours here each Saturday before the Youth Meeting and plan to do different activities throughout the year such as worship and games with the younger children.
