Regular readers of our blog or prayer letters will know that we organise a couple’s dinner once a month at our church where we can get together and discuss what it means to have a Christian marriage. Normally each couple brings some food and we share a meal together followed by a discussion and dessert. This month, instead of our normal couple’s dinner we all attended a marriage seminar hosted by another Gjakovë church.
The three day seminar was hosted by Bashkesia Rruga e Shpreses (Fellowship of the Way of Hope) but held in our own church building because of it’s central location. We were asked to lead worship on each of the three nights before the seminar was given by a couple from Holland. Over the three nights the couple looked at different aspects of marriage and the event culminated in an opportunity for couples to renew their vows, or make vows for the first time (in some cases). For us it was a reminder of the marriage preparation course we did before we got married in 2014, but for others it was a new way of thinking about their marriage. A lot of single people came to the seminar so it was a good opportunity for them to learn what a Christian relationship should be like.
