It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Rebirth of Kosova Church. You may remember reading our post Rebirth of Kosova is moving! about how, due to the issues we were having with our old building, we had made the decision to move to a new building. We also appealed for your support to cover the increased cost of the rent at the new building and we would like to encourage you to pray and share our fundraising page so that we can raise the remainder of the funds we need https://crowdfunding.justgiving.com/rokrent
We had a very busy three days moving out of the old building and had lots of help from many of the youth in the church who came to help pack hundreds of books into boxes, take furniture to needy families and throw away lots of rubbish that had built up over the last 6 years.
The new building is bigger, all on the ground floor and will be more useable for a wider range of activities than the old building. There will be more bathrooms, a kitchen, specially designated kids’ room, a prayer lounge, welcome and fellowship area, teaching room as well as a large space for worship which will be able to seat at least twice the number of people as the old building. There is a lot of work to be done to get the building to a useable condition and this could take up to 3 weeks.
While we wait for the new building to be ready we are meeting on Sundays at the headquarters of a Dutch charity who have a house in the centre of town, and we are holding prayer meetings, cell groups and bible studies at the homes of members of the church fellowship. We’re doing worship in a simple way, just Ilir on the guitar but we’ve been able to introduce one new song and this period of transition without all the bells and whistles of a normal church service has prompted us to produce our own worship song book so that we can go out of the comfort of our church and do worship in villages or homes.
Thank you for your prayers for us and the church in this time of transition. We know that we serve an awesome God who has big plans for the future of His church and it’s exciting to be a part of that.
